Based on the fictional language in Thomas More’s socio-political satire Utopia published in 1516. Utopia is a pun meaning both the “good place” and “no place.” The variation of strokes in this type design reflect this conflicting meaning, as well as the contrast and congruence of our real world with Utopian society.

The imagined device (pre-iPad era) is translucent and when held up would be like looking through a window where the digital world meets physical.
This building design for the Climate Museum organization acts as a climate change measuring tool as well as an interactive exhibition to inspire action on the climate crisis. Proposed to be built on the Manhattan shoreline, the structure is designed to fill with water as the oceans rise, as well as record comprehensive data on air and water chemistry, temperature, precipitation, cloud cover, and wind speed, and generate clean, renewable energy for the surrounding neighborhood.
A proposal for the systematic zone flooding of New York City to help manage sea level rise. Instead of building barriers or adding shoreline to the sinking island of Manhattan, sea walls will be constructed around delineated areas where the land is five feet or less above sea level, letting the ocean flood these areas in planned increments of 20, 30 and 50 years as the ocean rises due to climate change.
An idea that enables conservative and progressive minds to live together harmoniously. This solution redesigns how we vote, as well as how our government functions.
Much like how personalization delivers content and functionality that matches specific user needs or interests, your government benefits will reflect how you vote as an individual, using your mobile device. This will not only give lawmakers and public officials the ability to discern precise needs, it allows direct democracy, higher voter turnout, lower taxes for many, and the chance to experience your ideal form of government, void of place.
Designed as a submission for the 2018 Monument Avenue Redesign project for mOb Studio in Richmond, Virginia. This poster proposes that we take Confederate statues on Monument Avenue, pummel them into rubble, and use it to pave the new Amazon parking lot in Richmond as a crude but clear commentary on discrimination, capitalism and progress.
This completely waterproof house is designed to withstand rising waters and hurricane force winds in the historic bungalow neighborhood of Far Rockaway, Queens. Before evacuation, valuables are stored in water tight bins in the attic, and the front and back doors are left open to take in the storm surge. The house generates its own power, and the roof coverings, electrical system and foundation are all designed to surrender and survive severe storms.

A research project cir. 2014 with a group from the Design and Urban Ecologies program at Parsons. This proposal takes the feet of ash left in villages of post-war Bosnia and spindles it into usable 3D printing material. This also connects young adult Bosnian diaspora around the world to out of work people in their hometowns, by creating a mutually profitable project, void of place, combining technology and manufacturing.
This project takes trash from the sidewalks of New York City and turns it into beautiful street wear that looks and acts like armor. Assembled from contrasting ideas regarding armor and way of life: while Western cultures historically designed body armor to deflect weapons, Eastern armor absorbs impact.
A project aimed to create radical change in the fashion industry, RENEW takes back EILEEN FISHER clothing, and mends, over-dyes and cleans them to resell, promoting sustainability, innovation and circular design. Using typography and untraditional photography, we focused on creating experimental campaigns to speak directly to our change making work.
